About Me
About Karen
Hi, I’m Karen—romance author, English teacher, and a lifelong believer in love stories that don’t come easy… but are always worth it.

I’ve always been drawn to romance, especially the kind with a twist—shifters, vampires, hidden worlds layered just beneath our own. The idea that something magical could exist just out of sight has always felt a little too believable to ignore.

For years, Seraphine’s story lived quietly in the back of my mind. I started writing it more than once, never quite knowing where it would lead or how it would end. It wasn’t until I discovered the world of indie authors—reading advance copies, seeing stories brought to life outside traditional paths—that something clicked.

If they could do it… why couldn’t I?

This time, Seraphine was ready.
And so was I.
Why I Write
My stories aren’t just about romance—they’re about resilience.

I write characters who have been through things that changed them. Who have been told they’re broken, or too much, or not enough… and who find their strength anyway.

Because I believe most people carry something heavier than they let on.

And sometimes, seeing that reflected in a story—watching someone fight through it, heal, and still find love—can matter more than we expect.

If readers walk away from my books feeling a little stronger, a little more seen, or a little more willing to choose themselves… then I’ve done what I set out to do.
The Stories I Tell
I write paranormal romance with emotional depth, where:

-
Heroines are strong, even when they don’t feel it
-
Heroes are powerful, but know when to step back
-
Love doesn’t fix everything—but it makes healing possible
-
And happily ever after is something earned, not given

You’ll find dark elements in my stories—trauma, loss, difficult pasts—but they are never the whole story.
There is always light.
Always strength.
Always a way forward.
A Little More About Me
By day, I’m an English teacher, helping students find confidence in their words (and occasionally discovering that some of them have secretly read my books).

By night—and early mornings when inspiration hits—I write whenever I can, balancing creativity with real life, teaching, travel, and living with fibromyalgia. Some days that means hours of writing. Other days, it means none at all.

When the words are there, I take full advantage.

I’m usually writing with a view—preferably near water—with something sweet and caffeinated nearby (mocha will always win over black coffee).

I’m based in the UK, though I like to think of myself as a bit of a worldwide citizen, and I’m almost never without a book in hand.

And if I’m not writing or reading, you’ll probably find me being supervised by my black cat, Luna.
Final Note
More than anything, I want this space—and my stories—to feel like somewhere you belong.

Not just as a reader.
But as someone who gets it.

So whether you’re here for the dragons, the romance, or the journey in between—

I’m really glad you’re here. 🔥
