Learning Something New
Each month I try to challenge myself to read something factual about something I know nothing about. Here are some of the monthly reads that I found interesting.
I teach English as a second language to students all over the world but I really had no idea about the people who live in North Korea. We see things on the news but this book opened my eyes about one girls journey to freedom.

We all know the name but I didn't really learn much about World War II at school so I thought this was a good place to start. Such an insight into what this family went through during this time.

The world has had many mass extinctions (think the dinosaurs) and we are now living in the next. This book goes through each (focusing on the latest) and discussing what we can do about it. I do have a science background but really enjoyed this.

The A-bomb happened many years before I was born but with the world the way it is at the moment I wanted to read more about how it effected the people. This is the story of how 25 young girls were effected by this day for the rest of their lives.

More coming soon!
