Bram Stoker was a writer from Ireland who lived a long time ago in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He wrote a book called "Dracula", which is very famous.

Stoker was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1847. When he was young he was often sick and had to stay in bed a lot. But during this time, he read a lot of books, especially scary ones by writers like Edgar Allan Poe. Later, he went to college in Dublin and did well in sports and academics.

After college, Stoker got a job working for the government, but he also liked to write. His first book, "The Snake's Pass", didn't sell well. But his second book, "Dracula", became very popular when it was published in 1897.

"Dracula" is about a vampire from Transylvania who goes to England to find new people to drink their blood. The story is told through diary entries and letters, which makes it feel like it could be real. People have loved the scary vampire in the story for over a hundred years.

Even though "Dracula" was a big hit, Stoker didn't make a lot of money from his writing. He wrote more books, but none of them were as popular as "Dracula". Stoker died on April 20, 1912, many people still not knowing about him.
