Roald Dahl is a famous author loved by many people. He was born on this day 13th September 1916, in South Wales. His early life was very sad because his father and sister passed away when he was only three years old.


He went to different schools in England where he was treated strictly. These experiences influenced his stories where bad adults often played important roles. After school, he became a fighter pilot in World War II, and this part of his life inspired his writing.


Roald Dahl wrote many books for children and adults. Some of his most famous ones are "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "Matilda," "James and the Giant Peach," and "The BFG" ( The Big Friendly Giant). His books are known for their interesting stories, strange characters, and a mix of funny and dark parts.



One special thing about Roald Dahl's writing is how he could make you feel like a child again and take you to magical places in his stories. He also liked to make up new words and create fantastic worlds in his books. This showed how strong words can make your imagination fly.
