It's finally happening!

If you have been following my journey you know we have been trying to relocate to Barbados for about a year. We have had a few setbacks one being the sale of my house. But it looks like the final hurdle has been jumped. It's taken a long time but the paperwork for the exchange of contracts on my house sale is happening on Thursday! I think we are actually going to get there this time! I have asked for 7 days between the contracts being exchanged and completion. This is fairly unusual in England, as most people do everything in one day, but having 7 days gives more time to plan and move things. With some days being more physically painful for me (and I never know which days this will be), having the extra days gives me a bit more peace of mind that I will manage to get the house emptied and cleaned.

We don't have a lot of stuff left, probably (definitely!) still more than what we need but I only have a small car, so it will take a few runs back and forth to my mum's to drop everything off. That said it is not really enough to make it worth hiring a van, as I am not taking anything big with me. I have some large pieces of furniture which will be going to charity, but so far everyone I have contacted locally is busy until after our move date, so can't help. How do people do this if they are moving on one day? I have one other place to try but they haven't answered my email yet so fingers crossed. I'm confident I will find someone who would like some free furniture.
Now we can start to look for flights and places to stay in Barbados. We have been looking at long-term rentals while the sale took place, but everything that will allow a pet seems to be miles from the towns and beaches, which we want to be able to access easily as we will be relying on public transport or walking. So we will carry on looking and the right place will show itself I'm sure.
My blog is just a short one today, as I have so much packing to do and things to plan, but the next instalment should have us another step towards starting our new life in BARBADOS!!!!!
This article is difficult and confuses me. The author probably writes articles for English reading practice in an easy way for learners. So it is easy to read for beginners. But this article is vague from the title first, so it makes me read without being able to focus on the aim. But I need to be able to read this kind of text.
And, hey, what's that? I thought you were done with that?😳
