As of this week, One Paw in the Sand now has its own official website domain,....ladies and gentlemen, I present to you (small drum roll): www.OnePawInTheSand.com Yay me! Hopefully, now people will be able to find me more easily. It should also help more people be able to find my tips and advice for when they are thinking of making the big move to Barbados, or even for those just heading to Barbados for a holiday. Once we relocate, I will be able to show more of the local area, and reviews of local restaurants, but until then I will carry on with letting you know about the preparation we are making.

It feels like the process of moving to Barbados is taking forever, but when I look back it was only in March that we even found out about the Welcome Stamp Visa, and decided to make the move. The part of the process that is taking the longest is selling all of my stuff and the house. If we were keeping the property, to rent out, we could have moved already as the process was super quick really. But we didn't want to have the hassle of trying to run a rental property from thousands of miles away, so a sale was the best route and gives more freedom. We are down to the last few things and the house is just waiting on the final paperwork (hopefully) so the adventure will start soon, I just can't wait. We were hoping to be in Barbados before the clocks change in the UK later this month, which I don't think will happen now. However, it shouldn't be too many more weeks beyond that. The extra time means we are able to see friends and family before we leave, as we will only be seeing them on video calls for the next year or so. I always believe in trying to make the best of a situation!

As soon as the sale of the house is completed it will be full steam ahead. The only delay might be due to Luna, my cat. Getting her paperwork organised and her ready to be shipped into Barbados might take a bit more time than shipping myself out. The shipping company at this end needs 5 weeks' notice, but I will have a talk with them and find out specifics in the near future. I will do a full post on the process we have gone through with Luna once we get settled in Barbados, because this seems to be one area people worry about when relocating, even though Barbados themselves have made it quite straightforward. She loves the sun and being warm, so has taken to snuggling up in a blanket these last few weeks since it has gone cold in the UK. It also gives me an excuse to share another picture of my fur baby with all of you 😁

The excitement is building, but I also wish I could click my fingers and already have everything done, so we can make the next step. As ever, we will stay positive and just keep doing what we can to move it along!
