I have been here a few times now and it is consistently great. When I first saw the name Wendy's Sports Bar I really didn't think it was for me. I don't like sports so why would I want to go here? So many of the locals were suggesting it though, that we thought we would give it a go. Here is my restaurant review.
Food
Each night they have a slight variation on the menu. They even have an app so you can check the menu and that they are open. It is traditional Bajan fare. I don't know what they do to the fish, but it is amazing! I was a little confused when I first went as there are two areas. For food, head to the very back, straight ahead and down a couple of stairs. Here you will see the menu and can order from the very helpful staff. My favourite is the grilled fish with macaroni pie. Last time I visited I had some amazing roasted sweet potato, it's a different variety than in the UK, but has a similar flavour and hopefully I can have it again soon. If you like spicy, then ask for the homemade "One Drop" sauce. The clue is in the name, it is literally all you need! Hot and tasty!
Drinks
There is a full bar at Wendy's, and they also have some drinks fridges near the food order area, so you can find something for everyone's tastes I'm sure. There are plenty of soft drinks and the bar area does an offer on 4 bottles of Banks or Deputy.
Service
The staff are hard-working and really friendly. They will happily give suggestions on what food or drinks to try, especially if the brands are unfamiliar or you want to try something a little different.
Atmosphere
Yes, there are big TVs and sports are playing, but it's not forced on you. There are seats away from these areas and the sound has been off in the evening when we visited. I'm sure if they were showing something you were really interested in, the sound is turned on. Most of the European events would be around lunch here in Barbados so I haven't been there at this time. They also have karaoke on Friday nights which seems to be well attended and some of the participants even have a good voice.
Overall thoughts
This is a great little local bar. The people who live in the area are constantly walking in and out with takeaway parcels. I am a firm believer in 'if the locals eat there it's good food' and this has definitely been my experience. I will continue to visit as it really is one of the best food we have had in the area and it's reasonable too. For those of you from the UK, I would put it on a par with Wetherspoon's.
